Dr. Benson is the former Blue Valley Schools Superintendent and a lifelong educator. He served as a Kansas State Legislator; has a strong understanding of school finance and related legislation.
Stand Up Blue Valley
Benson has an extensive background in education, as a teacher, administrator and Superintendent, including as Superintendent for Blue Valley, while the district experienced a big growth spurt. Since then, he has also served in the state legislature. It would be almost impossible to find someone THIS qualified to serve on the Board. Benson is also a Gun Sense Candidate, meaning he has pledged to govern with gun violence prevention in mind.
Colleen Cunningham
Dr. Benson's experience as an educator and a former BV superintendent will be an asset to the board. He has strong endorsements — Stand Up Blue Valley, Game On for Kansas Schools, BV NEA, KNEA, and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense.
