Superintendent Thurmond has been at the forefront of advocating for higher education, workers, anti-racism, and social justice. He has been a true partner in our work push the CSU to be centered on students, staff, and faculty. Tony Thurmond has dedicated his career to public service and to advocating for all Californians, so we are thrilled to endorse him for Governor.

The hard-working members of the National Association of Social Workers - California are thrilled to announce our strong support of Tony Thurmond for Governor. With his personal background of overcoming adversity and service as a former social worker, Tony uniquely understands the struggles and the challenges people are facing today and has worked tirelessly to help those in need throughout his career, including his tenure as a State Legislator. We know that as Governor, Tony will be a bold champion for our members, whether it comes to fighting for livable wages and benefits, stronger workplace protection standards, or robust investments in our social safety net to ensure every Californian has an opportunity to thrive. We're with him 100% and look forward to helping Tony get elected.

The Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA) PAC is excited to endorse Tony Thurmond for California Governor because Tony has shown time and time again throughout his career that his heart and soul is dedicated to the success of our community, including being a lifetime BWOPA member who has been honored as a BWOPA Man of the Year Award recipient. Not only would Tony be groundbreaking and transformative as California's first Black Governor, but he also has been a relentless and accomplished fighter for our state from his time in local government to the State Assembly to his current tenure as Superintendent of CA Schools. In working to create universal health care and universal meals programs, distribution of scholarships to recruit and retain teachers and school counselors, and creating paid internship programs, Tony has been leading the charge for effective policies that make a real difference in our community. Tony would be a forward-thinking, unrelenting advocate for Black women and all other marginalized communities throughout California as we combat this second Trump administration, and we look forward to helping him get elected as our next Governor.
