My name is Jake Zaleski and I run AnthroTalk, a leftist commentary page. I've been living in California for all of my life and I love this place. I believe we need bold new solutions to our problems.

California Lieutenant Governor

California Secretary of State

California Controller

California Treasurer

California Attorney General

California Insurance Commissioner
I support Jane Kim because I support the creation of a natural disaster insurance for all program. For far too long insurance has been able to keep upwards of 35% of the premiums that they collect and turn that money into profitable investments, ads (with my namesake), or corporate profits. For reference, in the medical insurance industry, that number is set at 15% due to the ACA. While Ben Allen has experience regulating the insurance industry, I believe that Jane Kim has the fresh new ideas to not just regulate and tinker it, but to transform it into a system that accurately prices risk and works on disaster mitigation while also being affordable and accessible to all Californians.

This measure sounds good but is bad policy. For example, I've heard that mental health services are excluded from the 90% number.
