We endorse Scrivner, the 52-year-old director of development and communications for BikeWalkKC, if only because she has so clearly prepared for the task, offering particularly detailed answers about her preferred policies. Scrivner said she favors targeted tools to deliver property tax relief to Overland Park residents who need it most. “I’m not keen on providing more tax relief to corporations than to our residents,” she said.

I really appreciate Scrivner's "political origin stories." When she was a kid, she got a taste of political work saving a tree at her school. She is running for city council now after helping her aging father who lives in Overland Park and seeing what services could be implemented to better support that population in our community . At the Johnson County Post forum, I was impressed with Scrivner's research and ideas that she had learned about being implemented in other cities. Scrivner is a Gun Sense Candidate, meaning she has pledged to govern with gun violence prevention in mind.

Scrivener's experience working for non-profits will be an asset to the council. Her responses in the JoCo Post forum showed that she has some innovative ideas and will bring a fresh perspective to the council.
