Supervisor - District 2, San Francisco County Board of Supervisors
Supporters span elected leaders, labor, neighborhood voices, environmental advocates, housing groups, and major editorial boards. That coalition suggests confidence in practical leadership that can work across interests, deliver on core city issues, and appeal to both civic institutions and community stakeholders. It also points to strength with groups focused on public safety, housing, and quality-of-life concerns.
Sherrill is the incumbent, appointed Supervisor and endorsed by Mayor Lurie and the SF Democratic Party. His top priorities are public safety, small business support, and accountable governance. He co-sponsored legislation to speed up 911 responses near schools and parks, supported sober housing, and launched a free firearm storage program. He helped extend the "First Year Free" fee waiver for new businesses. He also pushed for performance dashboards and government accountability. His opponent Lori Brooke opposes key housing and mayoral priorities and did not fill out the GrowSF questionnaire.
This is the district of Fancy Houses In Pac Heights. Candidates are Stephen Sherrill and Lori Brooke. Stephen Sherrill voted for the mayor’s upzoning plan and has public safety as a priority. I like both of those. He also supported the RV plan, which is discouraging the kind of illegal camping that is a health and safety hazard. We're going to encounter a lot of battles over ensuring we building enough housing to allow more people who grew up here to be able to afford to live here, and Sherrill's vote is good for that. He's a champion for public safety too, and goodness knows we need a lot of that in a city that has issues with boundaries.
